FADE IN:

EXT. THE PROCESSIONAL - EVENING


WE OPEN on ADDIE AND KYLE’S backyard in a suburban California neighborhood. The wedding guests are seated. West Coast Jazz plays softly in the background. FRANK, the Officiant, has taken his place at the end of the shuffleboard court.

The music begins to fade. JOSIE NOONE and the DOODLE OF HONOR approach the shuffleboard court, heralding the event's start. JOSIE escorts the DOODLE OF HONOR to the front and greets FRANK, the Officiant, and are seated.

FRANK WELCOMES the guests and makes ANNOUNCEMENTS. He then calls the guest's attention to the house behind them.


MUSIC CUE: “Land of a Thousand Dances” performed by Wilson Pickett

A classic R&B song is heard. The flower girls, ADDIE, ANDREA, JULIE, and RACHEL, process up the shuffleboard court one by one while showering the guests with rose petals.


MUSIC CUE: “Bodhran” performed by the Young Dubliners

Traditional Irish fiddle music begins to play. ANIKA and LINDA process together up the shuffleboard court. They greet the Flower Girls and the Officiant as their walk-up music FADES OUT.


MUSIC CUE: “Manteca” performed by Dizzy Gillespie and His Orchestra

The fun sounds of bebop rise over the speaker. WENDY and her mother, JOSIE, process together up the shuffleboard court. WENDY seats JOSIE and greets the wedding party as her walk-up music FADES OUT.


MUSIC CUE: “Gonna Fly Now (Theme from ‘Rocky’)” performed by Bill Conti with vocals by DeEtta LIttle and Nelson Pigford 

A traditional march (fanfare) begins to play. ABIGAIL processes up the shuffleboard court with her mother, BARBARA, and stepfather JOHN. ABIGAIL seats BARBARA and JOHN and greets the wedding party as her walk-up music continues.


CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEREMONY - EVENING


FRANK makes his OPENING REMARKS and then delivers the INVOCATION.


CLOSEUP ON THE SPOUSES

WENDY and ABIGAIL make DECLARATIONS and EXCHANGE RINGS.


CLOSEUP ON THE OFFICIANT

FRANK reads the EPITHALAMION


FRANK makes the PRONOUNCEMENT.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE RECESSIONAL - EVENING


MUSIC CUE: “Dreams” performed by The Cranberries

EXIT The Newlyweds, Maid, Matron of Honor, Flower Girls, and the Officiant. The wedding party greets the guests and invites them to enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres.  


CUT TO:

EXT. THE DINNER PARTY - EVENING


ABIGAIL WELCOMES the guests. Light music begins to play in the background as dinner is served. 


MUSIC CUE: “Grease Lightning” performed by John Travolta

ABIGAIL and the four FLOWER GIRLS jump up from their seats and perform a rendition of the “Grease Lightning” dance from their Mission Hill Middle School days. 


The Maid of Honor and Matron of Honor give remarks. Cupcakes are served as the guests continue enjoy conversation. Eventually, the NEWLYWEDS exit the party to a surprise.


FADE OUT
